An eclectic mix of artists in Brentford will swing open their studio doors to the public this weekend.

The quirky Johnsons Island studios, nestled on the banks of the Grand Union Canal opposite the Brewery Tap, is where painters, sculptors, jewellers and craftsmen will showcase their unique selection of arts and crafts to the community.

The event is free to attend for those who want to discover what's on offer while artists will be selling their masterpieces which can be bought or commissioned on the day.

Artist Vicki Cooke said: "We love our quirky island studios and it’s a delight to throw open our doors and share what we do.”

The three-day event begins on Friday (June 5) with a preview viewing from 6-9pm, followed by the opening on Saturday (June 7) from 11am-6pm.

Councillor Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow Council, said: “The waterside has become a magnet for artistic and cultural events, with walks and the floating cinema choosing to be centred around this area in June alone.

"Use the open studios as an excuse to discover what this canal side setting has to offer.”

Access is via a footbridge from Catherine Wheel Road.
