A Hillingdon ballet dancer is preparing for her West End debut in the new adaptation of Snow White.

Micaela Infante, 14, is rehearsing every Sunday along with 55 other young dancers, selected from over 500 children who auditioned.

The keen dancer, who is now at Tring Park, a performing arts school where she learns both ballet and musical theatre, won the role of the Queen's evil accomplice.

Snow White is staged by London Children's Ballet (LCB), a performance company that stages one West End production each year performed by talented dancers aged 9-16.

Jenna Lee, a choreographer for LCB, looks forward to watching the interpretation of Micaela's role on stage.

She said: "Micaela has been wonderful to work with.

"She is an articulate, versatile dancer but also has a great understanding of telling a story through a character role. She has really developed throughout this rehearsal process."

Jenna sees choreographing for LCB as a life-changing experience after just one month of being involved.

She added: “The commitment and passion from some of the young dancers has been overwhelming. The company is full of talented, excited and eager-to-learn ballet students who hang on your every word."

Snow White is said to be "a feast for the eyes, with glorious costumes, an original musical score performed by a live orchestra, and a cast of 55 highly talented dancers".

London Children's Ballet aims to dispel the myth that ballet is a niche, middle class activity with 55% of the successful dancers coming from low income families.

The company rehearses on Sunday afternoons at the English National Ballet School rehearsal studios, in Fulham.

Snow White will be performed at the Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre from April 23 to 26.
