ADAM Wendham's last-minute try secured Old Abbotstonians a 17-5 victory in their derby victory over Ickenham on Saturday.

The visitors missed an early penalty, and Liam McPherson made them pay by breaking the deadlock with a fine try from 25 metres out, converted by Dan Tuckwell.

After the break, Dave Francis ran 40 metres for Abbots' second try, which was unconverted, before Ickenham hit back straight away with an unconverted try too.

A further penalty for the visitors went wide of the posts, and on 80 minutes, fly half Wenham worked his way through three defenders to touch down the decisive, yet unconverted, try.

In the same division, Uxbridge's promotion hopes are looking ropey following a 35-10 defeat at Harrow, despite taking the lead through a Jamie Dack try, converted by Mark Wilson, and holding them 10-10 at half time, Wilson also landing a penalty.
