Harrow Rugby Club have issued a desperate plea for props to help save their season from ruin as their cripping injury crisis has left their London Division 4 North West status hanging by a thread.

They trailed 15-0 at Hemel Hempstead on Saturday before the match was abandoned after 25 minutes because their already decimated front row was hit by the loss of hooker Martin O'Neill, who as injured in a scrum. After lengthy talks the referee decided to call a halt to proceedings in safety grounds. The final result and any sanctions for breach of regulations will be decided by the County committee.

It is the second time this season Harrow have been unable to fulfil a fixture - they were forced to concede their game at Old Hamptonians without even kicking a ball. They host Barnet Elizabethans this Saturday at Grove Field (2.30pm kick off) but if they fail to complete this fixture they will be excluded from the division and forced to drop five leagues into the Herts & Middlesex Four. This would undoubtedly prompt a mass exodus from the ailing club with players keen to stay playing at the highest level.

In the meantime, the club are urging any experienced props in the area to answer their cry for help by calling 0208 954 2615 or captain Simon Bram on 07725 217110.
