It took only a matter of minutes for promotion-chasing Rosslyn Park to fall behind in Saturday's National Three (South) clash at Havant.

With a game in almost a month, Park were looking rustier than one of the posts at the far end of the pitch and were soon behind to a Havant penalty.

But Dylan Pugh levelled matters with a mirror image penalty just minutes later, and tries from Alex Cadwallader and Graham Corrin put them firmly in control.

However, with Pugh missing both conversions, the gap was just three points at the break after Havant pulled back a converted try.

Rob Jewell secured the game for Park with a third try after the interval, but Havant, who pulled back a penalty to make it 18-13, denied them the all-important fourth try bonus point.

* ALSO in National Three South, Richmond warmed up for this weekend's derby with London Scottish with a 27-8 win at Lydney.

The two sides exchanged penalties early on, Matt Hart scoring Richmond's, before Andrew Wehbe went over for the first try.

Lydney got an equalising try,but Richmond took full advantage when they found themselves two men to the good following two yellow-cards.

First, they were awarded a penalty try after Lydney's scrum collapsed. Then, Wehbe turned provider to put in Tim Cook for a try after Ed Rosa has charged down a clearance.

Lydney threw everything at Richmond when back to their full compliment after the break.

But it was Richmond who got the all-important, not to mention bonus point-winning, try when Kris Green found his half-back partner,Luke Cousins, to work a neat angle.
