It was a nail-biting finish, but Richmond held on to take the points against Chinnor on Saturday.

With Richmond leading by two points deep into injury time, Chinnor were awarded a penalty on the half-way line which would've won it for them.

But it fell just short, and Richmond won 23-21. Earlier, Matt Hart's penalty, plus tries from David West and Jonny Wehbe should have seen Richmond should have been home and dry.

But an injury-time nightmare saw them concede another try, and then the penalty which could have sealed their fate, but was missed.

Richmond host Sutton & Epsom in the first round of the EDF National Trophy on Saturday. Meanwhile, an RFU panel has let off Adam Wheatley for allegedly striking an opponent with his knee against Bishop's Stortford in August.
