Harlequins have completed the signing of Fiji international Asaeli Tikoirotuma on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old back joins from Super Rugby side Waikato Chiefs and is set to arrive at Quins in August.

Tikoirotuma’s rugby career began in New Zealand as he played for Wanganui in the Heartland Championship for five years before heading to ITM Cup outfit Manawatu in 2010.

He linked up with Chiefs coach Dave Rennie at Manawatu, paving the way for his switch to Waikato in 2012.

Quins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "Asaeli is one of the most exciting backs in world rugby.

"He comes from a winning culture at the Chiefs, is equally at home on the wing or at centre.

"I am sure he will fit seamlessly into the way we play here and add to the quality we already have."

Tikoirotuma has featured three times for Fiji.
