LONDON NORTH-WEST THREE Grasshoppers...............20 LONDON NIGERIAN.................29

AFTER seven attempts London Nigerian finally got their first away win of the season - and more importantly - hope that they can avoid the drop.

This worthy win on Saturday moved the Linford Christie Centre side off the foot of the table, and it took less than 50 seconds to crush Grasshoppers underfoot.

Ugo Ekeowa caught the opposition still mentally in the Osterley changing rooms, and his dart through the gap before offloading to Ali Shelleng did the rest.

A minute later they were 10-0 to the good when scrum-half Josh Bruce fed Leon Lam to gleefully scamper down the left for try number two.

Ekeowa was the architect again inside 15 minutes, after he worked in tandem with Shelleng to put Craig Castle in the clear.

Ns have flattered to deceive far too often this season, but when Shelleng himself ran over for his side's fourth try - and still no sign of the half-time

whistle - even the blacks shirts were able to puff themselves out a bit.

But the wake-up call of a Grasshoppers penalty only served to ignite an afterburner under Lam whose barnstorming run drew the Grasshoppers fullback and offered a perfect pass for an Ekeowa try.

The job was done at 29-6, but there was still time for a Grasshoppers comeback of sorts and a spell in the sin-bin for Bruce.

LONDON NORTH-WEST THREE H'SMITH & FULHAM.............33 Finchley....................................23

IT WAS as well there was a Beveridge to report on at Hurlingham Park on Saturday.

Cameron of that name, landed two tries for Hammersmith & Fulham - the second after a storming 40-yard run to finally get Hammers' league season back on track after nearly a month of postponements.

Hammers feared the worse when captain, scrum-half and all-round club totem Ali Lines cried off before the start.

But Scott Richards eased home worries with an early penalty and then found Ryan Dilley to charge over for an opening try.

When Finchley stepped up the pressure it was Beveridge who punctured any hope of a comeback with his brace of touchdowns either side of half-time, as well as watching another successful penalty from Richards and a try from James Weeks.
