Harlequins centre Harry Sloan got on the scoresheet as England U20s booked their place in the IRB Junior World Championship final.

Sloan was one of five try scorers to cross the line in a 42-15 semi-final victory over Ireland to set up a date with South Africa in Auckland on Friday.

It will be Sloan’s second successive appearance in the final after he started as England beat Wales 23-15 in last year's showpiece event in France.

England head coach Nick Walshe said: "We're pleased with how we played - particularly in that first half, we challenged the guys to start well and they delivered. Ireland were physical and caused us problems, but we dealt with them well.

"It feels just as special this year as it did last - South Africa will provide a real test for us, but we're excited - it doesn't get much bigger."

Try-scorer Sloan was joined in the England side by fellow Quins prospect James Chisholm, who played at number eight in the win at the QBE Stadium.
