Second row Mike McMeeken, who missed his first game of the season against Huddersfield Giants on Saturday, is back in the Broncos squad for the Magic Weekend fixture against the Catalan Dragons.

The London side need all the good news they can get right now, having lost their opening 12 fixtures of the Super League season.

New French recruit Maxime Herold is retained and could face his French compatriots on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium (12.30pm)

Herold has been training well according to head coach Joe Grima, who said: "Communicating has been pretty tough because he doesn't have a great command of English.

"But his effort and tenacity have been great. Everything about him I like."

This will be Grima's first experience of the Magic Weekend, along with about 11 of the squad. Broncos v Catalans will be the first of seven fixtures at the home of Manchester City FC.

"I can't wait, we're all looking forward to it,” Grima said. "It's going to be exceptional. It's a sensational idea, everyone is excited about the whole concept."

Things are improving on the injury front for the Broncos, with long-term absentees Erjon Dollapi and Will Lovell returning to action this weekend with the London Skolars.

Apart from Nesi Mataitonga, who will probably be out for another couple of weeks with his hamstring injury, and Kieran Dixon, expected to be back in July, all are available for selection.

The full 19-man squad is: Jordan Atkins, Michael Bishay, Mason Caton-Brown, Matthew Cook, James Cunningham, Joshua Drinkwater, Ben Farrar, Alex Foster, James Greenwood, Maxime Herold, Olsi Krasniqi, Iliess Macani, Michael McMeeken, Thomas Minns, Scott Moore, Nick Slyney, Denny Solomona, Atelea Vea, Jon Wallace
