James Duckworth has given London Broncos an injury boost ahead of tonight’s (Thursday’s) home match with Catalan Dragons, writes David Lawrenson.

The winger has been out for the past six weeks with a hamstring injury but is set to return to the side for the game at The Hive, which kicks off at 8pm.

Broncos also welcome back prop Nick Slyney after a one match suspension as Tony Rea’s side go in search of their first win of the season against the Dragons.

Broncos are back on home soil after two away fixtures and will be hugely encouraged by their performance on Friday at reigning champions Wigan Warriors.

They stunned the home supporters at the DW Stadium by racing into a 10-0 lead and going into the final quarter trailed by just six points before a late scoring burst gave the Warriors a 36-14 victory.

“I thought we were wonderful and really took the game to them at the start,” said Rea. “We have been building and I do expect good things for the rest of the season.”

The Dragons have also had a poor start to the season but picked up two big wins in recent weeks with convincing victories over Huddersfield Giants and Widnes Vikings – although both of those were on home soil in Perpignan.

“We’ve been away for a couple of weeks so the guys are looking forward to playing at home,” said Rea. “We’re excited about being back in London.”

The Broncos will complete their Easter programme on Monday when they travel to the KC Stadium to take on Hull FC, kick off 3pm.
