PHIL Babb hasn’t given up hope of landing former AFC Wimbledon youngster Huw Johnson.
The Hayes & Yeading manager has been an admirer of the midfielder for some time and we exclusively revealed his interest in the 20-year-old earlier this month.
Johnson was among 14 players training with United last week and Babb was impressed with what he saw from the ex-Dons man, although the player is keen to get back into the Football League.
Babb is hopeful he can persuade Johnson, who featured 11 times last season for Wimbledon, to ply his trade in the Conference South and put himself in the shop window.
But United are not desperate to strengthen in the central midfield area, with John Goddard expected to be retained and Sidorowicz able to fill in.
A select few players from last week’s training session were called back for a second chance to impress on Tuesday night, along with another half-dozen potential recruits.
