Andy Murray was planning his Wimbledon title challenge just two hours after becoming the first man to win the Queen’s Club title for a fifth time.

The defending champion survived falling a set behind against big-serving Milos Raonic to clinch a 6-7 (5-7) 6-4 6-3 victory in West Kensington.

It was a result which sees Murray overtake John McEnroe, Boris Becker and Roy Emerson to claim five Aegon Championships titles.

Murray has been reunited with coach Ivan Lendl, who helped him win at SW19 in 2013, ahead of this year’s tournament in south west London.

Lendl is known as a tough taskmaster and Murray has revealed his trainer and assistant coach Jamie Delgado have already briefed him for the start of Wimbledon next week.

"We chatted with Ivan and Jamie just now,” he said shortly after lifting the trophy at Queen’s.

“We spoke a little bit about today's match but mainly more about next week and planning for Wimbledon.

“I like that. It's not concentrating too much on the win today.

“It's like, 'Okay, great, now what do we do tomorrow? What do we do to get better over these next few days to put myself in a better position for Wimbledon?'”

Murray heads to Wimbledon in stunning form having reached four consecutive tournament finals - in Madrid, Rome, Paris and now London.

“I probably haven't done that before so that's again a good sign,” Murray added.

“I hadn't thought about it but it's a sign things are going in the right direction the last few months.

“Even in Monte-Carlo, I was pretty close to reaching the final there too. But I have given myself chances every week right now and winning a lot of matches.

“It's been a good three months or so and I need to try keep that up between now and the end of the year.”
