RHYS Weston will return to training with the AFC Wimbledon squad this morning as his Kingsmeadow future remains in the balance.

The former Arsenal and Cardiff City defender has spent pre-season with the Dons and was included on the club's recent trip to Italy.

However, the 32-year-old has yet to receive an offer as boss Neal Ardley juggles his budget.

“It's still undecided,” said Weston.

“I had a good chat with Neal in Italy and it all comes down to finances.

“The board have sanctioned a squad of 20 players and I know adding to the attack is a priority.

“If there was an option to do something of course I would consider it. I want to stay in the Football League.

“However, there's no pressure on them. I'm grateful for the opportunity to spend pre-season here.

“It's been fantastic for me to train alongside the lads for the past few weeks.”
