WEALDSTONE'S new 'Fans Stand' is due to be assembled at The Vale from Tuesday.

Many fans have been working during the summer months to lay the base for the stand, which is at the Tea Bar end of the ground, and complete other work so contrstruction can take place quickly.

The cost of the stand which is of steel modular construction is being funded entirely by supporter contributions and further initiatives will be announced to complete the outlay.

With crowds progressively increasing at The Vale since Stones moved in during 2008 there has been a pressing need to increase the amount of standing cover for fans - for their comfort during inclement weather and  to enhance the atmosphere during home matches by providing better acoustics.

The stand, which will be capable of holding up to 300 supporters and can be completely dismantled, should take two to three days to install.
