WEALDSTONE have been dealt a huge blow with the news that striker Lewis Putman will miss the whole of the season through injury.

Putman was carried off on a stretcher during Wealdstone’s recent friendly defeat to Hayes & Yeading at Grosvenor.

Scans have revealed the extent of the damage and Putman confirmed he was set for a lengthy lay-off on his Twitter page this afternoon.

He wrote: “Worst news from the hospital....Anterior Cruciate is damaged as well as medial. Out for the season”

The Stones had hoped Putman, who banged in an astonishing 81 goals for Oxhey Jets last season, would fill the void left by Richard Jolly.
