ADAM Thompson is willing to extend his stay until the end of the season – if both Brentford and Watford are willing.

The Hornets right back last week extended his second loan spell of the season at Griffin Park by another month, meaning he will be here until at least the end of March.

With Kevin O'Connor unlikely to return this season, Bees boss Uwe Rosler will be keen to hold on to Thompson for longer to provide cover and competition to Shaleum Logan.

Thompson said: “I'd be happy to stay here for the rest of the season if the chance arose. Watford have shown their faith in me with a three year deal, but I'm not in the first team picture there, although I hope to go back and break through like Dale Bennett did after being here.

“But for now I'm enjoying my football here and having a good battle with Shaleum Logan for the right back spot. I understand he only needs to play a few more games for his contract extension to kick in, but I won't make it easy!

“It's quite a different team to the one during my first loan spell – players have come and players have gone – but I think it's a better team now and we are moving forward.”
