WESTMINSTER Warriors made it into the National Division Two play-offs at the weekend - but were breathing through everything available to them by the end of back-to-back games.

Warriors edged past Mansfield Giants 71-69 on Saturday at the Moberly Centre, but the Kensal Rise side was on the bus at the crack of dawn on Sunday to make the trip to Durham Wildcats. And it was clear after a blitz start in the north east, the fuel tanks were close to empty during the last gut-wrenching quarter. Westminster took a 15-point lead going into half-time against Durham, but ended up trailing by one by the start of the last 10 minutes.

And that is the way it stayed right up to the final hooter, with Wildcats squeezing home 82-81, despite Yannick Bulambwe racking up 21 points in both games. John-Jay Johnson potted 15, as did coach Junior Williams (pictured) against Durham - with Warriors guaranteed a shot at glory in the play-offs on April 3 with two games left of the regular season.
