THERE was double the reason for Chiswick duo Tara Olonga and Javinka Patel to celebrate on Saturday.

Not only did the Esporta Riverside Club pair win a national tennis competition, but they helped raise cash for charity in doing so.

Having earlier battled through the regional rounds in the Save the Children Tennis Cup, their success continued in the national finals, where they won the ladies' doubles pairs, along with David Lloyd Hampton duo Beverley Melunsky and Ros Morrill.

Other competitors included Saisha Bacon and Uma Koshi.

The event was held at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, and saw trophies presented by UK singles ranked number two Alex Bogdanovic, and a questions-and-answers session by Judy Murray, mother of Andy.

Isleworth resident Jane Willoughby has been organising Hounslow's regional event for a few years now, helping the tournaments raise more than £2m for Save the Children. Participants pay an entry fee and raise sponsorship, while schools, clubs and companies all get involved.
