UXBRIDGE chief Gareth Elliott believes his team will bounce back in this weekend's derby – despite the min-revival at neighbours Ickenham.
Uxbridge went down to only their second defeat of the season in Herts/Middx Two on Saturday, going down 20-15 at Old Grammarians.
Tries from Adam Lackey and Matt Jackson, plus a conversion and a penalty from Mickey Weymouth, were not enough as Uxbridge slipped to third in the table, allowing Old Merchant Taylors' to steal into second.
Elliott said: “It was not a good weekend for us, the only positive being a losing bonus point, but we should bounce back against Ickenham. They compete well at the break down, and have turned their season around, and it will be closer than when we beat them 58-10 earlier in the season. But if we play to the best of our ability, we should beat them.”
Ickenham, for their part, have now moved from being rock bottom to third from bottom after following last week's 12-5 win at London French, their first of the season, with a 26-15 victory over Kilburn Cosmos on Saturday. This Saturday's game kicks fof at 2.15pm.
Meanwhile, doing some bouncing back of their own were Ruislip, who recovered from last week's 67-7 hammering at Colchester to beat Rochford Hundred 26-19 in London One North.
A brace of tries from Sam Mullen, plus one each from Dan Porter and Phil Greham, earned Ruislip a bonus point and saw them move up to seventh, ahead of this Saturday's game at Letchworth Garden City.
