NAS Bashir says that Hayes and Yeading have to be careful with rising talent Tom Collins after his superb display last night.

The 19-year-old ex-Stevenage Borough striker (pictured) capped an excellent second-half display as a substitute with a wonderful solo goal for his second in Hayes and Yeading's 2-0 win over Forest Green.

Collins' performance made everyone at Kingfield sit up and take notice - and it may even have left his watching former Borough boss Graham Westley regretting the decision to release him two months ago.

But Hayes and Yeading manager Bashir said: "He is a young lad and we have to manage his development. On the back of him playing on Sunday against Wrexham, we thought he could be fatigued if we started with him.

"But we knew at some stage that we could get him on and he would cause problems. He is very lively and quick and is a big threat."

Hayes and Yeading had gone five weeks without a home win, but Bashir believed that it was only a matter of time before his side turned the corner.

"Looking at the DVD from Sunday, I thought we were excellent," he added. "It was the best that we had played and apart from one mad moment we should have got a point.

"Our performances lately have been very good as we are putting in consistent performances. If we keep going like that then we will shoot up the table.
