HAYES and Yeading were plunged deeper into the relegation mire in a defeat that saw Dwane Lee red-carded against his old club.

Nas Bashir's men bravely battled back to equaliser with 10 men after Lee was red-carded just before the hour today, but two goals from Callum Gittins maintained Kidderminster's Blue Square Premier play-off ambitions.

Bashir handed home debuts to a quartet of recent signings with Lloyd Owusu and Dean Sinclair joined by midweek signings Carl Pentney and James Folkes in the starting line-up.

Pentney was forced into his first save when he had to be alert to turn away a volley from Lee Vaughan.

The hosts were put under pressure by play-off hopefuls Kidderminster in the first quarter of the match and it needed a last-ditch challenge by Hayes and Yeading skipper Mark Bentley to stop Dave Hankin going clean through on goal.

Hayes and Yeading looked like a side struggling for cohesion in the first-half with so many new faces in the side, but they did show signs of promise, particularly when Luke Williams and Louie Soares combined to find Owusu in the box but he headed wide.

However, Kidderminster grabbed the lead in the 28 th minute when Bentley tripped Jamille Matt in the box and Vaughan sent Pentney the wrong way from the subsequent spot-kick.

The visitors had a great chance to double their advantage when Dave Bird was left completely unmarked in the box, but he headed wide from just eight yards.

Kidderminster had a chance to notch the killer second when James Vincent broke free of his marker in the box, but he dragged his shot wide of the far post.

But Hayes and Yeading pressed the self destruct button two minutes before the hour when Dwane Lee was saw red against his old club after he received a second booking for a rash challenge on Callum Gittins.

The 10 men rallied though and they snatched an equaliser against the odds from an unlikely source when Tom Cadmore's 25-yard free-kick left Kidderminster goalkeeper Tony Breedon wrong footed in the 65 th minute.

After finally having their first shot on target, the hosts then came close to snatching the lead when Breedon had to get down low to save a Luke Williams effort.

But Hayes and Yeading were level for less than five minutes as the visitors restored their advantage through Gittins, who finished emphatically after good work down the wing by Matt.

And Gittins sealed it with his second four minutes from the end of normal time to kill off Hayes and Yeading.

Hayes and Yeading: Pentney, Argent (Collins), Cadmore, Owusu, Soares, Williams (Joseph-Dubois), Bentley, Lee, Folkes, Ujah, Sinclair (Crockford).
