NAS Bashir has warned his players that they are all fighting for their futures at Hayes and Yeading, ahead of tomorrow's visit of Barrow.

Manager Bashir has threatened to wield the axe during the January transfer window with a mid-season clear-out after Hayes and Yeading's FA Trophy knockout at the hands of Blue Sqaure South Hampton and Richmond.

With Hayes and Yeading also anchored in the relegation zone, Bashir is fast running out of patience with the current crop and he even suggested an entirely new team could be needed to beat the drop.

“We are going to regroup and in January there will be some new faces to carry us through to the second part of the season for sure,” said Bashir. “Looking at the performance [against Hampton and Richmond] we are probably looking at a whole new team. I will definitely be aiming to bring in at least four or five new players in the January window.

“The bottom line is that every player, in every game, needs to perform and that’s not happening. We have not got that consistency. Some are playing from week to week, and their performances have to be up to standard. Good players have consistency and we haven’t got that.”

Hayes and Yeading have already started clearing the decks with striker Richard Pacquette shown the door and immediately re-signing for Maidenhead United.

Bashir said: “Richard came to us at the start of the season  We thought he did well for us and he got a few goals. “I just felt he lacked a bit of form and he had lost his confidence. In certain games, he was getting chances that he would normally score from and not taking them.

“We slightly changed the way we play and we have got Tom [Collins], who is very quick up front.

“I thought it was best for Richard to find another club so he can move on and we can invest our time and energy in Tom. We also have Mo Bettamar, another young player who has done well.”
