NAS Bashir has urged Hayes and Yeading to build on last night's encouraging performance against title contenders Fleetwood by moving out of the relegation zone over the Christmas period.
Bashir's men held the joint Blue Square Premier leaders for 75 minutes before losing 3-1 and the Hayes and Yeading boss wants his side to take that into their double-header against Ebbsfleet United.
"We were playing against one of the top teams in the league who will finish first or second," he said. "I honestly believe that as they have a big squad and are full-time. Our fitness showed in the last 20 minutes as they looked a bit sharper and stronger.
"I was disappointed with the second goal that we conceded as we have to understand that we need to concentrate for 90 minutes. We lacked concentration and they scored from a long throw-in.
"But there were a lot of pluses for us as we put in a shift and worked hard. It was just not going to be our night and at 1-1 if Toby's shot had dropped in, then it would have been a different game.
"There were a lot of good performances from our players. James Folkes at right-back was very good there, Tom Cadmore was good and Dan Wishart is growing into the left-back position. Tom Collins also got his goal and was bright in the first-half.
"If we can keep that going against the other teams in this division, then we will pick up points."
