PHIL Babb is pondering a deal for former Stoke City scholar Joseph Debayo.
The Hayes & Yeading manager was impressed with the centre-back in a behind-closed-doors match at Beaconsfield Road last week.
Debayo is a powerful defender with pace and a towering frame who is comfortable stepping out and playing forward from the back.
Starting his career at Fulham’s Development Centre, Debayo was scouted for QPR and signed a one-year deal.
A trial at Chelsea lasted nine months before the youngster moved onto Wycombe Wanderers, however he was released and eventually moved to Stoke.
Debayo signed a two-year scholarship with City but the centre-back did not completed the full length of his contract.
He spent time with Dave Anderson’s Harrow Borough towards the end of last season in the Ryman Premier Division.
