NAZ Bashir branded ref Seb Stockbridge the worst he has seen this season after his Hayes & Yeading side crashed 2-0 at York City on Saturday.

A crazy four minutes of injury time at Bootham Crescent saw Dan Spence sent off for two yellows which Bashir claimed were undeserved, and Steve Arnold concede a penalty which the H&Y boss should have instead been a yellow card for York's Jason Walker for diving.

In the event, Walker picked himself up to score from the spot and seal the points, leading to the visiting bench angrily trying to confront Stockbridge in the tunnel at the final whistle.

Bashir said: “That was the worst ref we have had this hyear. It was going to be hard enough up here as it was without playing against 12 men.

“He gave us nothing all game, then sent Dan Spence off for two yellows, neither of which were worth one yellow, and if anyone should have been booked, it's their player for diving for the penalty.

“We were on the front foot at the time, only a goal down and chasing a point. At 2-0 it looks like we we have been beaten fair and square, but at 1-0 we were always in the game.”
