GREG Ngoyi has urged Wealdstone boss Gordon Bartlett to pair him with a burly target man next season.

The striker has set his sights on a 40-goal haul by the end of the next Ryman Premier campaign, but insists an experienced attacker alongside him will be key to achieving that target.

The 21-year-old speedster learned a lot from the vastly experienced Davis Haule last season and is now hoping Bartlett brings someone of a similar ilk into Grosvenor Vale.

"It would be great if we could sign your typical big centre forward," said Ngoyi. "Davis held the ball up for me and he was someone I could play off, so it would be great to have that again next season."

The club were unable to offer Haule a new deal beyond the end of last season but Ngoyi is confident in his manager's shrewdness.

"He is going to bring in a few players in areas he feels need strengthening and I think we'll have a strong squad that must be in with a chance of the play-offs."

The Stones hot-shot, who cemented hero status amongst the fans with a hat-trick against Harrow Borough in April, says he cannot wait to return for pre-season and face the likes of Leeds United and Watford.

"You don't get a chance to play these professional teams very often, so we're going to give it all we've got," he added.
