NEW Bedfont Town boss Garry Haylock has been getting some handy tips off Arsene Wenger - by reading the Arsenal manager's book.

And Haylock, who is hoping former Bedfont player-manager Jon-Barrie Bates (pictured) will take up a coaching role at the club, wants the veteran to be his Tony Adams out on the pitch.

Although Bates has now had two very successful spells as interim manager, the club felt his full time job might affect his ability to do the job, but he had been offered a coaching role.

Haylock said: “I don't know JB that well, so will be getting to know him, but I hope he stays on board, as he is still an important player for us more than anything else.

“I have just been reading Arsene Wenger's book, and he talks about the importance of having a player who is his voice out on the pitch who he is in tune with – and I want JB to be my Tony Adams out there.”
