Brentham Lawn Tennis Club's mixed doubles tennis team emerged victorious in the Middlesex Cup - beating Will to Win of Regent's Park 5-4.
It was the first time the club had reached the county final for six years and they did not disappoint. The players had to contend with wind, rain, thunder and bright sun during a tense afternoon of competition at Meadvale Road, Ealing, and needed to hold their nerve at the last to win the trophy.
The scores were tied at 4-4 going into the last rubber and the result was decided on a tiebreak.
The team of three mixed pairs for the final was: James Fiordilisi and Gwyneth Hartnet, Chris Smith and Olivia Faber, James Roche and Janeen Quentin (captain).
Other players who helped Brentham come through four rounds to reach the final were Hazel Clopet, Matthew Maloney, Juliet Lunn, and Ken Blake.
