Team Hounslow achieved four gold medals and improved their final position at the Grand Final of the 2015 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
The team struck gold with Georgie Boyle, who repeated her gold medal performance from 2014 in the 50m freestyle swimming, Tiger Brewer in the boys high jump, Charlotte Buckley in the girls 800m and Kelisha Johnson in the indoor rowing events.
Another medal-winning performance came from the girls’ basketball team, who finished third in their finals, eight places higher than the previous year.
Other impressive performances came from the boys football team, who improved 20 places to ninth position and the boys and girls athletics teams, who also had dramatic rises up the table finishing 11th and 18th respectively.
Overall, Hounslow entered a record 37 teams and finished 21st, two places higher than 2014.
Councillor Ed Mayne, Hounslow Council’s cabinet member for public health and leisure, said: “It’s another fantastic achievement for Team Hounslow, and I congratulate all the players, coaches and athletes for making such great strides this year.”
