TARA are the undisputed queens of camogie in London after landing their fourth title for a clean sweep of capital trophies.

A 10-22 v 0-0 demolition of Croydon in the senior final at Mitcham on Sunday crowned a superb 2009 for the Greenford club.

They have landed the Junior League and Championship and the Senior League and Championship, equalling Pearses' 1999 record when their rivals also took all the London titles.

Helen Murphy started the scoring with a well-taken point after just two minutes and the points kept coming. Bid Grennan opened her account with another fine point before Murphy got the first goal of the day with a well-worked move with captain Denise Gilligan.

In miserable conditions - driving rain and a biting wind - Tara still fashioned some great moves, none better than the one that brought Gilligan the first of her four goals.

Grennan sent Joanne Hamilton down the line, who in turn found Murphy in space before Gilligan was supplied for a perfect finish.

Tara's half back line, expertly led by Ann Gleeson at centre half back, dealt with every ball that came their way and Tara's defence were only briefly under pressure for the closing stages of the first half. As it was, Gilligan and Murphy scored again to make it 5-7 to no score at the interval and the game was already as good as over.

Tara did not let up after the interval and racked up a succession of points from Grennan, Murphy, Angela Kenneally and Gilligan.

Tara were too strong all over the field and their ability to find each other with hand passes and flicks was a joy to watch. The win made up for the one blot on a perfect year - a defeat in Ireland to Four Roads in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
