You win some - you lose some as Ray O’Gorman found out in the Hammersmith & District Darts Singles League on Sunday.
Last week, O’Gorman won all all his matches. This week, he couldn’t buy a win. In contrast, Lyon Grolet's notched his first 180, and Martin Ekis was the player with a clean sweep of victories without dropping a single leg all evening.
It got better for the arrows ace when he climbed top of the 180 table, finished from 121, and had 17, 18, 19, and 20 darts legs, three of which came in a single match.
New player Ian Ireland stamped his authority, matching Jason Clark's league-leading 15 dart leg from last week as well as hitting the third 180 of the night.
George Foster sits top of the table, but with Ekis unbeaten in six matches, he is treading hard on the heels of the leader.
In regular league action, Chiswick Society C faced off against West London Deaf, and won 8-5 win to keep them in touching distance to second place.
Sinners fought back during their singles games to secure an 8-5 win against Chiswick Society A that kept them just six points behind division leaders, The Angels.
