HULK edged closer to a move to Chelsea last night after reports claimed a deal to take the Brazilian to Stamford Bridge was 90 per cent complete.
The powerful Porto striker has been tracked by the Blues for 18 months and Roman Abramovich looks to have finally captured the Brazilian for a fee of around £40million.
Hulk has an £80million release clause in his contract at the Estádio do Dragão and the Portuguese giants are believed to pushing for a £60million fee.
Chelsea will not meet their demands and are understood to have reached a compromise with Porto to take the 25-year-old for around £20million less than that figure.
The striker is desperate to move to West London and many had expected the frontman to make the move to England with former Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas last summer.
Villas-Boas has since been axed by Chelsea but Hulk has retained an interest in a move, with personal terms already believed to have been agreed between the two parties.
Hulk bagged 21 goals in 38 appearances last season as he helped guide Porto to their second successive league title.
Chelsea have already signed Marko Marin for £6.5million this summer and look set to confirm the £32million arrival of Belgian superstar Eden Hazard after the player revealed he would join the Champions League winners.
