The old season has hardly finished, but Wealdstone already have their line up of pre-season games for the new campaign in place - pride of place being another clash with Championship club Watford.

The two clubs met in pre-season last year and drew a big crowd for the game, held at Harefield United FC, which the Hornets won 4-0.

This time round they will meet at Stones' new Grosvenor Vale home on Wednesday, July 23. Admission will be £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Stones start their pre-season games with an away match against Windsor and Eton on Saturday, July 19.

Following the Watford match they will be at home to the team which knocked them out of the FA Cup last season, Blue Square South outfit Hampton and Richmond Borough, on Saturday, July 26. That is followed on July 29 by a visit to Leatherhead and on Saturday, August 2, Stones will be away to North Greenford United.

On Tuesday, August 5, they are at home to Enfield Town, then entertain Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday, August 9.

Their final pre-season friendly is away to Hillingdon Borough on Monday, August 11, before the new Ryman League season starts on Saturday, August 16.

The FA meet this week to formulate the league constitutions for next season.

Having suffered a brief flirtation with the Southern League two seasons ago, Wealdstone will be hoping not to get dragged across the pyramid again, although the prospect would seem to be unlikely. [25a0] Wealdstone are holding their end of season presentation evening on Sunday, from 7.30pm at Grosvenor Vale.

All supporters are invited to attend what promises to be a great evening. There will be a nominal £5 entrance fee on the night to cover catering costs.
