STEELY performances from members of the Hillingdon Borough Elite Swim Team in Sheffield were rewarded with an incredible 131 lifetime best long course times from a possible 200.

A 32-strong squad, part of Hillingdon Swimming Club, aged 11 to 17, produced some superb displays to finish an excellent 10th out of 83 clubs in the top level, Licence One Rotherham Open Meet at Ponds Forge.

Francesca Marr, who was recently selected to swim for Great Britain, led the medal haul with four golds and a silver. Karley Mann, 13, recorded another National Qualifying Time (NQT) with 2mins 49.42secs in the 200m breast-stroke and 14-year-old Sophie Wilson posted 5mins 12.5secs in the 400m individual medley, to add to her growing list of NQTs.

The long weekend featured many outstanding swims, particularly by 12-year-old Jaycee Sibley in the 200m back-stroke and 13-year-old Adam Wood in the 400m individual medley.

They both missed out on NQTs by less than a second but they will hope to make amends at the forthcoming London Regional Championships.

The other leading performers were: Sophie Wilson (gold, bronze), Karley Mann (gold), Sarah Harrington (bronze), Kate Wilson (bronze), Faisal Bhatti (silver, bronze), Callum Mitchell (silver and third place in the 12-year-old British Age Group points table), Lucas

Navarro (silver), Oliver Green (silver), Tom Randall (bronze) and Adam Wood (third place in the 13-year-old BAG points table).
