RYAN Dickson insists he's got nothing to prove when he lines up against Brentford on Saturday.

The former Bees full-back turned down a new deal at Griffin Park , eventually signing for Southampton in the summer for a fee which could rise to £250,000.

Dicko made more than 100 appearances for Brentford, scoring three goals, and helped them to the League Two title in 2009.

And he insists he has nothing to prove to his former employers ahead of the clash at St Mary's.

Dicko said: "I always gave 100 per cent for Brentford, and I think Andy Scott knows what I'm about.

"I'm an honest footballer who isn't blessed with amazing ability but that's why I work so hard.

"I done well during my time there, so don't feel like I have anything to prove.

"I had something to prove when I first went to Southampton, as you always do when you move to a new club.

"It took me time to adapt to their playing style, but now I'm back in the team and doing well."
