JACK Saville is pushing for a starting spot on Sunday against Tamworth after his impressive debut against Luton Town.

The on-loan Southampton youngster has been signed up on a three-month loan deal at Hayes and Yeading, but he has had to be patient to earn an opportunity.

However, that came on Tuesday night in the 2-2 draw against Blue Square Premier title favourites Luton Town when he made an encouraging debut after being introduced as a half-time substitute.

Boss Nas Bashir (pictured) said: "Jack will be kept on, we have got him for 93 days so he will be here for another two months. He did well when he came on and we are creating a good squad here with competition for places. The boys are aware that they keep the shirt if they play well, but if they do not then someone will come in and take their place."

Bashir is expecting former Southend United and Aldershot playmaker Louie Soares to show what he is capable of now after his morale-boosting double against Luton.

"I have been waiting for Louie to be the match-winner and show us that little bit of quality that he has got," added Bashir. "He showed that in the second-half. I was pleased with him, but I was pleased with all the players and the effort that they showed."
