HARLEE Dean has cleared the decks for a permanent move to Brentford.

The Southampton centre-back has made 20 appearances for the Bees since joining on loan back in November.

The Chronicle can reveal the 20-year-old will not be offered a new deal with the Championship promotion-chasers when his contract expires in the summer.

And former Dagenham defender Dean admits he would jump at the chance to stay at Griffin Park .

He said: “It's a massive step up playing first-team football rather than being stuck in the reserves, but I've really enjoyed it.

“Southampton won't be offering me a new contract so if the opportunity arose to stay here I would love to.”
