FORMER Brentford favourite Sam Sodje reckons his old club have enough in their armoury to maintain a strong promotion push.
The Notts County utility man, who almost pinched maximum points for his new employers after coming on as a late sub, said: "They are a very strong side and will be contenders at the end of the season I am sure."
Sodje thrashed a shot just wide with minutes of the Bees 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane and admitted: "I would have loved it to go in despite the fact that Brentford are still the first result I always look for.
"I hit it well enough but didn't get over it. I've still got friends at Brentford and I don't think they'd have forgiven me if I'd scored."
But Sodje was happy with the point which maintained his side's recent run of form, and added: "Brentford have some good players and have added to their squad well this season, so it was a good result for us. I'm pretty certain they will be rivals with us for promotion in May."
