GORDON Bartlett is glad to have Jey Siva supplying the ammunition for his Wealdstone side after the defender shone in Saturday’s FA Cup demolition of Kings Langley.

The left-back, who arrived at Grosvenor Vale this summer from Enfield Town, caused havoc all game and gave Langley’s Danny Hutchins a torrid afternoon.

Siva set up four of Wealdstone’s six goals and was desperately unlucky not to score himself after his long range strike smashed against the crossbar before the break.

And Stones manager Bartlett was quick to highlight the qualities of the defender after the triumph, which sets up a second qualifying round tie at home to Haringey Borough on Saturday week.

“We’ve recognised Jey’s got a wonder of a left-foot and we encourage him to take set-pieces and, more importantly, when we’re getting forward to get crosses in the box,” Bartlett said.

“He gets in great, advanced areas for a left-back and we’re pleased. He has a lot of qualities going forward.”

The Stones took the lead on 18 minutes after defender Sean Cronin rose highest to head home from Siva’s corner.

Within the space of a minute, Wes Parker doubled the home side’s advantage, heading in from another Siva set-piece delivery, this time a curling free-kick.

After the break, substitute Kurtney Brook crossed from the left to leave Parker with an easy tap-in and Scott McGleish added a fourth, sliding in at the neat post to convert striker Peter Dean’s centre.

In the 78th minute, and against the run of play, Shawn Owen scored for the visitors after Jonathan North failed to hold on to the ball.

But Stones immediately went up the other end and Siva pulled the ball across goal, following great approach play, to leave substitute Reece Grant with an easy tap-in.

And there was still time for Siva to make an interception on the halfway line before teeing up youngster Jack Hutchinson to curl a shot beyond Ant Ladyman to round off a great performance.
