BRENTFORD have tabled an improved contract offer to midfielder Sam Saunders .

The former Dagenham & Redbridge star has been in red-hot form for the Bees, topping the Griffin Park scoring charts with six goals.

However, his current deal in TW8 is due to expire at the end of the season.

But Brentford boss Uwe Rosler is hopeful the 28-year-old will commit his future to the club.

He said: “We've made Sam an improved contract offer and are waiting for him to come back to us.

“The talks we've had were positive and we've made what we think is a good offer to him.”
