CONOR McAleny's horror injury left Brentford manager Uwe Rosler speechless.

The on-loan Everton youngster was carried off on a stretcher in today's 1-0 win over Walsall.

Donaldson headed home what proved to be the winner on the stroke of half-time but Rosler admitted the three points had come at a heavy price.

He said: “It was a good three points but we paid a heavy price. We are all shocked [about McAleny's injury]. He got a very, very nasty injury.

“I'm speechless. I feel for the lad. A very promising player. A very hungry player. We will give him all the support we can and hopefully he can come back soon.

“I've not seen the DVD. It was a slippy pitch and with the force and the tempo of the players these days, things like this can happen. I don't think somebody really went for him.”
