DEFIANT Brentford boss Uwe Rosler insists his side are still on course to meet this season's targets.

The German has come under fire from sections of supporters following two cup losses this week – crashing out of the FA Cup against Wrexham on Saturday before last night's JPT defeat at Barnet.

But the Bees are seventh in the League One table, just two points off the play-off places, ahead of Saturday's home clash with Hartlepool.

Rosler said: “I think you work with the same belief in the good times and the bad times. This is not my first club as a manager – I've been here before.

“The way I'm working and communicating with the players will not change. Obviously, we're in a results-orientated business and they haven't been good enough at home.

“However, cup defeats like the one to Barnet can happen, and we know where our weaknesses lie.

“With all the problems we've had injury-wise and all the loan players we've had to bring in, we're still sitting in seventh place.

“Our form in pre-season raised expectation among Brentford fans, but everybody should realise the budget we're working under and the size of the club.

“I said from day one, and now again when things are a bit cloudy, our target is to finish in the top 10. We want to make the next step but we've changed personnel and the style of play.

“If it comes to February and March and we're still in a similar position, we will welcome the situation and we will go for it.

“Unfortunately we're out of the JPT, which was a big chance for us to go to Wembley, but if we continue to put in performances like that I'm sure we will turn things around.”
