UWE Rosler reckons the Griffin Park pitch caused his side more problems than Preston did this afternoon.
An injury-time Sam Saunders penalty earned the Bees all three points in a game which had looked set to end in frustration after chance after chance went begging for the hosts.
Bees boss Rosler admitted he had to change his system to cope with a heavy pitch, but was delighted his tactics paid off.
He said: “I didn't want to create a situation like against Swindon on Tuesday, when we were indecisive, not sure if we should play or go long, but we were more structured today.
“It's not easy when you practice for 21 months one way of playing, but we have to change it because of our own pitch in our own stadium.
“Considering the pitch, we had a good game. The pitch was heavy, so it was natural we would drop a little bit like on Tuesday, but were still in control of the game and creating chances.
“We kept the tempo up, which was key. It has been a punishing schedule in 2013, with game after game, but I could not have asked any more of them today, and we will give them a few days off now."
