West 4 Harriers scooped some impressive finishes over both distances at the Kingston Breakfast Run last Sunday.

A runner from the Chiswick-based club claimed second place over the 16-mile course, Isobel Rea storming over the line in 1hrs 45 mins 14 secs, and third place in the 8.2-mile course, Anna Critchlow excelling with her time of 50 mins 26 secs. Matt Holden also gave a sterling performance, finishing as sixth man in 48.3 over the

shorter course. Other West 4 members competing over 8.2 miles were: Adam Rathbone (50.52), Gary Robinson (52.45), Rochelle Winn (1:03.39) and Colin Steele (1:27.11).

Seven others joined Rea in taking on the full 16 miles - Chris Twistleton (1:44.05), Andrew Orchard (1:55.59), John De Castro (1:45.57), Ali Yousouf (1:49.10), Fiona Hopwood (2:02.27), Susan Cargill (2:10.59) and Lucy Hale (2:28.46).

The previous day saw a West 4 double victory at the Richmond Park Time Trial, Ben Madsen winning in a personal best of 17 mins 18 secs over the five miles, and Anna Critchlow leading home a West 4 clean sweep of the women's top four.

West 4 runners will be out for further honours when they take part in Sunday's Thames Towpath Ten, starting near Chiswick Bridge at 9.30am and finishing at Kew Bridge after taking in a course around the outskirts of Kew Gardens.
