BEN Hamer still has a future at Brentford, according to boss Andy Scott.
Hamer claimed the number one spot from Richard Lee after coming back from Reading for a fourth loan spell at the club in September.
However, he has had to play second fiddle for six weeks now, as Lee reclaimed his first team spot with a series of stunning displays.
Hamer's loan spell is up at the end of January, but Scott would not be drawn on his future following Brentford's win at Southampton.
He said: “I'm not talking about anything but positive stuff today as we've beaten Southampton 2-0. Ben's here until January 31, and we'll make a decision then.
“ Defensively, I think the goalkeeper and back four were absolutely fantastic. We spoke about how to deal with Ricky Lambert and their wide players and it worked very well.
“ We knew Richard would have to make a few saves, and he certainly did that. But we limited them to very few chances, and they didn't really test us in the second-half.
“ But we defend as a team, and the work the front two and midfield did made it easier for the back four to defend. The clean sheet belongs to the team.”
