OUT-OF-CONTRACT former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Sam Cox has delayed making a decision on his future.

Cox had wanted to get back on the pitch last night but was unable to thrash out a deal with any club prior to yesterday afternoon’s registration deadline.

Hayes & Yeading United and Boreham Wood are battling it out for the midfielder’s signature and he is now set to decide before this weekend.

Cox skippered United last season was named Player of the Year by the club’s fans, having achieved similar success with the Wood in a previous campaign.

Ironically, the two sides are set to face off in a Conference South clash on Saturday and it remains unclear which side the ex-Spurs and Barnet man will be representing.

Crawley Town have also expressed an interest in the midfielder and are believed to be monitoring his progress this season.
