HARLEQUINS Rugby League are set to unveil their 'new' identity as the London Broncos on November 1.

Although the name change has not ye been made official, it is rugby league's worst kept secret that they will revert back to their former name.

The club were known as London Broncos between 1994 and 2005, a period which was the most successful in the club's 31-year history, with a Challenge Cup Final appearance, and a win over Canberra in the World Club Challenge – not to mention the signing of star players like Martin Offiah and Shaun Edwards.

However, the club will not be reverting back to the old Broncos colours of red, yellow and blue (as modelled by former Bronco Steele Retchless in our picture), but will instead unveil a new kit colour at the launch.

One thing that will not change, for now, is the club's home ground, as they are tied in to playing at The Stoop, home of the Harlequins union side, for at least another year.

Other options are being looked at, although another groundshare is more likely than a new home of their own.

During their six years as Harlequins Rugby League, the club have disappointed in the Super League, never reaching the play-offs and scrapping more near the relegation zone, but they have brought a whole raft of good young home-grown players through their system.

Ironically, as London Broncos, they were criticised for over-reliance on antipodean players, but after having an English core for the past few years, the majority of next season's signings – the first as the Broncos again – have been Australian.

Meanwhile, two Quins players have been selected for the Jamaica squad for their 2013 Rugby League World Cup Atlantic Qaiualifiers.

Lamont Bryan and Omari Caro are both in the Reggae Rugby Boyz squad, along with Wigan's Karl Pryce, who was on loan at Quins last season.
