TWO Hounslow pupils met Olympic heroes Derek Redmond and Gail Emms after being chosen to represent the borough as young ambassadors.

Christopher Bamber-Blake, who is in year 12 at Isleworth & Syon, and Natasha Taylor, who is in year 13 at The Green School, were chosen as the Isleworth & Syon School Sport Partnerships representatives for the event at Twickenham Stadium last month.

The pair joined 200 other teenagers representing their schools and communities in a series of workshops focusing on Olympic ideals.

They will now work across Hounslow, championing sport and the ethos and values of the Olympics and Paralympics.

Meanwhile, Isleworth & Syon dominated last week's Gunnersbury Eight-a-Side Football Tournament, with three of the teams entered winning their age group trophies.

Star man Tevin Isidore scored the winning goal as the year 10s beat Heston 1-0 in the final, despite missing three key players to county trials the same day.

The squad also included: Devante Cummings-Blackstock, Dejan Butler, Joshua Davies, Luke Earing, Nasri Fatih, Richie Luwawa, Daniel Nobes, Lennox Phillips, Billy Ross and Sofian Zoberi.

The year 8s followed up this success by beating the hosts 12-11 in a marathon penalty shoot-out, after Paris Wilson-Mason netted eight goals in six games.

The squad also included: Jack Collett, Harry Cushen, Joshua Hart, Jak Hutchings, Freddie Ireland, Leslie Keegan, Daniel McGrath and Mohab Madkour.

The year 11s also won on penalties, beating Chiswick 8-7, with Aaron Spencer and Ashleigh Carmel Close their outstanding players.

The squad also included: Tom Brunton, Du'Aine Crichlow, Mustafa Fatmy, Ryan Forster,

Bradley Goater, Jamie Kelly, Hakim Miiro, Kane Rust, Sanjit Sandhu and Jeffrey Twumasi.
