SIMON Moore and Harlee Dean are due to resume full training at the end of the week ahead of Brentford's League One opener at Port Vale on August 3.
Keeper Moore is battling to overcome an ankle injury, while defender Dean limped out of the pre-season friendly defeat against Celtic at the weekend with a dead leg.
But Bees boss Uwe Rosler is hopeful the key duo will be back to face Vale.
He said: “Simon's doing light handling training and should be back in full training later in the week.
“I hope he will be ready but he needs games. If Simon doesn't play against Cardiff I don't think he will play the first league game.”
